Забавный черный толстячек с обложки, в синем фраке и с цилиндром на голове сразу настраивает на легкое веселое настроение и слегка сбивает с толку неподготовленного слушателя. Так как внутри отнюдь не цирковое изи-диско — а забористый мужской фанк! И улыбающися усатик Эрик «Фэт» Гэллон — отнюдь не клоун, а жесткий фанки драммер, к тому же с мощным хриповатым голосом! На этом альбоме в большинстве трэков мы слышим его вокал и четкие удары по барабанам.
Заводит иглу на винил, фанки-блюз «How Can I Explain» c душевной лирикой и пронзительными клавишными. Продолжает пластинку грубый фьюжн-фанк в духе Сэра Куотэрмана — «Life Is A Beautiful Thing». Завершают сторону А — заквакованный бас-фанк «Feelings» перенасыщенный гитарками, духовыми, клавишными и вокалом Фэта Гэллона плавно переходящий в инструментальный спэйс-фанк «Satan’s Dream».
Обратная сторона пластинки стартует тремя забойными фанк песнями «Magician Man», «Doing Bad», «Free My Wind» — с суровыми джаз-фанк рифами, барабанными брэйксами и крепкими мужскими подпевками. Финальным аккордом играет мелодичный космо-соул «Tip Of My Tongue». Музыка на пластинке выдержана в одном стиле, и при многократном прослушивании наступает пресыщение. Однако, сперва она рвет и рубит по полной! Для любителей фанка начала семидесятых — альбом рекомендуется к ознакомлению. Это единственная пластинка «ФЭТ»а.
Nice fat & funky LP. Fat Gallon is a recording session drummer. His only album for Bold Records is hard to find. Amazing is the best adjective to qualify the tracks of this record : soul, funk, p-funk and psyche are mixed and the mood is quite crazy. Produced by Willie Clarke.

The cover’s a silly one, but the record is rock-solid all the way through — a wonderful blend of funky jazz and warmer soul, and a real lost treasure from the 70s TK Records empire! Fat is Fats Gallon — who plays drums on the record, and also sings lead vocals a bit too — with this raspy southern soul style that’s a great counterpoint to the smoother sounds on the set! Things get plenty funky and tough throughout — and the small combo lineup ensures that the record steers quite clear of the more commercial styles that were coming out of the Miami scene in the 70s. There’s a jazzy inflection to most of the instrumentation, which makes for some compelling changes that have kept this set going strongly with new generations over the years — and the instrumentation includes loads of great guitar and keyboard bits too.
