“The idea behind the mix was to play uplifting soul tracks that are not only soulful, but also lovingful or, let’s say, a little bit sexy. I tried to create the vibe of a soundtrack of a romantic movie. One of the tracks, ‘Sea of love, was sung by Richard Gere in the movie ‘Brooklyn’s finest’ that’s in our theatres this summer. The first track is an edit I made of Marvin Gaye’s classic. I put two tracks of the Durutti Column together (from their latest album ‘Pean to Wilson’) and I extended the vocals of Marvin Gaye a little bit. I also added a few extra instruments. Roos Jonker is a Dutch singer. Her laid back soul album ‘Mmmmm’ came out on Dox Records a few weeks ago (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OqukxFUGJRk). Her song was a perfect fit for Love Grooves! The mix can be played on Valentine’s Day as well! ;-)”
